27 Weeks

Thankfully, my blood pressure has seemingly leveled out for now! I am continuing to keep a close eye on it though. I also have started checking my blood sugars as I had gestational diabetes with Oliver, and I'm finding that this might be something that's causing me to feel off. My fasting number was off this morning, which was never an issue with Oliver, and my 2 hr post dinner level was also off, so I plan to continue to check my sugars for the rest of the week. My 3 hour glucose test is scheduled for Saturday, but if my numbers continue to be off this week, I think it's safe to say I have it... Time will tell I guess!

Anyway...We've hit 27 weeks! We are feeling so grateful for this next milestone because last week, we were worried that my BP would cause things to change rapidly. So because of that, we were able to squeeze in some maternity photos this weekend (Thanks, Chelsea!), I snug in a prenatal massage (Thanks, Sarah Jean!), and we are trying to make sure we have all our other ducks in a row. I spoke with my current OB in Rapids and we discussed moving my primary OB care to Wausau so that I'm established there in the event that I'd go into spontaneous labor and be unable to make it to Madison. One of the OBs I worked with while pregnant with Ryleigh is up in Wausau now, and we LOVED him, so I'm hoping there's a chance we can get on his case load for the minor appointments, and then travel to Madison for the big appointments.

One of the sweetest milestones happened this weekend though... Ryleigh had the opportunity to feel Milo kick! He was having hiccups, so I asked if she wanted to feel him, and then he gave a big kick. She was excited for his "Biiiiigggg hiccup." Now, any time he's moving, I'll ask if she wants to feel him. One of the times he stopped, so she rubbed my belly and goes "Milo, it's not time for sleep yet!" But she wasn't able to "wake" him up. 😉

This morning, my alarm went off at 5:15, and I was not ready to wake up yet, but Milo sure was. He was super active, and almost seemed to be stretching, so I laid with my hand on my belly, and I got to feel some big sweeping motions of his hands/feet. It was a moment of calm, joy, and so much love for our boy to start my day.

As I always wrap up, thank you for being a part of our village. Thank you for letting us share our special little boy with you. Thank you for taking time to read, listen, support, share, celebrate, and just be with us in this journey. Every single message, offer of support, gift, meal, etc. is so appreciated. We truly cannot offer enough words to share how much it all means to us.

We hope this week continues to be uneventful, and we are so looking forward to seeing our little guy on the "big screen" next week!
